Brad July 13 1962 - October 11 2010 Brad was born in Western Australia and grew up under the care of his mother, Evelyn, and with his brother Brett, and with the love of Aunts and Uncles. He learned his trade as an air conditioning mechanic. When he was in his early 20's he moved to the Northern Territory of Australia and started his first business - a video rental store (we think, could be the other way around..). Never content to do things by halves, he soon started up an air conditioning company servicing air conditioners across the Northern Territory and with no surprise was a success at this also. He has been his own boss ever since. In 1992 Brad moved to Queensland, Australia venturing into the restaurant business on Australia's Gold Coast. It was at one of his restaurants where he met a little waitress who swept the big guy off his feet - Kathy. And that's where the fun began.Married on 31 August, 1997, Brad and Kath ventured into many business and life adventures. On May 14 1999, they were blessed with Ethan. Only a few weeks after Ethan's birth they moved to Fiji to continue the on-line DVD business they had set up a few years earlier. Thanks to a military uprising, they had a choice - start over again in the United States or start again back in Australia. Brad really wanted to move to the USA. So with a one year old and not much else, Brad and Kath moved to Sacramento, California. They worked so hard and got their DVD business going again. Early in 2002 they moved to Coral Springs, Florida and grew from strength to strength, both in their business and personally. Florida was paradise for Brad - lots of warm weather, lots of golf and lots of wonderful friends. Things only got better, when Mikaela was born on October 10 2003. Brad thought he had done a great job to have a son first and then a daughter - exactly how he wanted it. Four years ago, and to the surprise of many, Brad retired to become Mr Mom. For the last few years, as well as managing to fit in a round or two of golf and a session or two at the gym, Brad was the one at home to greet Ethan and Mikaela after school, to take them to their sports and activities, to help with their homework and to do fun stuff during the summer. It was a precious time for them all and created so many wonderful memories for Ethan and Mikaela. Nothing was more important to Brad than his family. He knew Kath was his perfect partner and Ethan and Mikaela were the loves of his life. Brad lived life on high. Whatever he did, he gave his all. And he did that right to the end. Instead of flowers, Kath would prefer you donate toward a special gift for Ethan and Mikaela in memory of their father. There will be a collection at the service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, located at 1401 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071.
