Linda DiCintio Law Salanger

Linda DiCintio Law Salanger, 63, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Northwest Medical Center, Margate, FL after a brief illness. Linda was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and was loved by all who knew her. Linda was born and raised in Niles, Ohio. She attended Mt.Carmel School and McKinley High School. She worked in the medical field for several years, her most recent position at Signet Diagnostic, Plantation, FL. She is survived by her husband Thomas Salanger, brothers Michael (Kim) and Rocco (Valerie) DiCintio, mother-in-law Anna Mae Salanger, Liverpool, NY, eight brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, 14 nieces and nephews (and each one was her “favorite”) and several cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents Rocco and Ida DiCintio. Where does one start when they want to explain and try to sum up a person’s lifetime in a few words? Linda had so many good qualities about her throughout her entire life. She was a caregiver who truly always wanted to help. She was always babysitting for her little cousins, always ready to tend and take care of any of her girlfriend’s children, nieces and nephews and was also caregiver to her mother and grandmother. Linda was very independent and a strong person starting from an early age and it only continued till her passing. She was adventurous and spirited and always wanted to try new things. She started out working in retail then went to the factories as a punch operator in PA. She left the factories to work for the Post Office, and left that position to go to General Motors working the line. Always on the move, she then went in to the medical field working as a unit secretary and in her friend’s doctor’s office. She went to California to live for a few years, returned to Ohio and from there she moved to Florida, where she met her beloved “Tommy”. In Florida she continued her work in various aspects of the medical field. If there was an event for family or friends, Linda was there, in control, and making sure that all areas were covered. She loved to entertain at her and Tommy’s home and have a crowd around her. At any given time if anyone said “let’s go” she was always ready to partake, always ready to have a good time. She loved to go on road trips from Florida to New York and all spots in between. Linda was an avid card player. It was a common sight for her to be at the kitchen table with everyone playing cards. If there was a game going on she was there. You might also find her camping in a cabin or in a tent, snorkeling, or just hanging out by the pool or at the beach with Tommy and her friends. If you were her family or her friend she was always there for you - in good times to laugh with you, and in bad times to cry with you. If you were in trouble or having problems she was there to help you overcome them. She was a good listener and a good talker and you always knew you could rely on her to be there for you. If she was your friend, then her family was your family and your family was her family. She always was there. Linda was loved by so many people, all kinds of people from all different backgrounds. She will be forever missed and loved by her best friend and companion in life, her husband Tommy, her two brothers and their wives, her mother-in-law Anna Mae, her large extended family in New York and California, all her aunts, uncles, cousins and so many people who knew her as “Buns”. She touched a lot of lives throughout her lifetime.
