Carolyn Elizabeth Tartaglia

Carolyn Elizabeth (Oveci) Tartaglia was born in Brooklyn, NY to proud and successful immigrant Sicilian parents. Carolyn grew up and attended Fontbonne Hall Academy High School for girls and studied at a post-secondary educational institution that was part of Barnard College. Shortly after, she became an insurance policy rater. She met and married Henry Tartaglia (also of Brooklyn) on June 26, 1954. They moved to Lynbrook, Long Island, New York. Fourteen years ago they moved to Florida and this past June 26th Carolyn and Harry celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband Henry, her children and their spouses Barbara (Bruce Noe) and James (Marilyn Tartaglia) and her grandchildren Carolyn Noe and Craig Noe. Carolyn was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She was famous for her home made tomato sauce, was a fierce Dwayne Wade and Miami Heat fan and loved to read. She was everyone’s “go to” person for any kind of advice. Her family loved to call her the “the doctor, the lawyer, the financial analyst, the psychiatrist, the psychologist and the therapist” all wrapped in one. She had a huge heart and loved her family, grandchildren and friends dearly. No one could ask for a better wife, mother, friend or relative. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, We are located directly across the street from Northwest Medical Center on 441 south of Sample Road, 2950 North State Road 7 Margate, Fl 33063, 954.977.5244. A Mass of Christian burial will take place in the large chapel Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery located 1500 S State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL (954) 972-1234.
