Desmond "Danny" Lloyd Campbell

Desmond "Danny" Lloyd Campbell, 53, of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away on February 14, 2011 at his home. Desmond (Danny) Lloyd Campbell was born in Kingston, Jamaica on June 5, 1957 to mother Beatrice Martin and father, Lloyd Campbell. He attended Cocoon All Age School and Frome Secondary. Desmond returned to his city of birth, Kingston, where he worked a security guard at the Norman Manley International Airport. He migrated to the United States in 1974. Desmond’s first job in the states was with a private moving company. After a few months, he decided to try something new and he went to work for Friendly Checker Cab Company. Desmond worked with them for many years, however, Desmond wanted more for himself, so he decided to start his own moving company, D.L. Moving and Storage here in Florida. He later moved the business to Atlanta and he continued to run it successfully until his untimely death. Of all the things Desmond has done in his life, nothing was more fulfilling to him than the day he met his beloved sweetheart Gloria Greenwood, whom he married on June 23, 1984. Desmond and Gloria would go on to have two lovely daughters together, Trisha and Tasha, both of whom are now college students with bright futures ahead of them. Desmond is survived by his mother Beatrice, stepson, Fabian, daughters Trisha, Tasha, and Morgan, and grandchildren Anaya and Maalik, sisters Carol, Faith, Georgia and brother Owen, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and countless family members and friends. Desmond will be sadly missed for his love for his family and friends and his kindness to all. More than anything else, Desmond will be remembered for helping people. His home gave many a place to start both business and life. He not only fed, but he taught many how to provide for themselves.
