Egna "Cuca" Leslie Colon, 69, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Hospice by the Sea Care Center in Boca Raton. She moved to Florida in 1991 from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since 1998 she lived with her daughter Ada (Kevin) in Coral Springs. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, had a great sense of humor, she was young at heart, and friends and family will always remember her mischievousness. She enjoyed travel, reading, crosswords, puzzles, but most importantly she loved family and friend gatherings. She looked forward to her Class Reunion and Parrandas. She was a cook by nature who loved her heritage and always treated her company with traditional Puerto Rican dishes. She will always be remembered as a women of great faith. She is preceded in death by her husband Cristobal Colon in 1992. She is survived by her two children: Edgar Colon, West Palm Beach, FL and Ada (Kevin) Nosowicz, Coral Springs, FL, numerous brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and seven cherished grandchildren: Yaiscka, Yehudit,Francis, Christopher, Mya, Michael, and Megan. A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Savino Funeral Home & Cremation Services where a wake service will take place at 6 pm with Deacon Denis officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. George, 9:45 AM on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Coral Springs, FL. Burial will take place 2:00 pm on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Se mudó a la Florida en 1991 de San Juan, Puerto Rico. Desde 1998 vivió con su hija Ada y esposo en Coral Springs. Egna era miembro de la Iglesia San Andres en Coral Springs, FL, tenía un gran sentido de humor, era joven de espiritu y sus amigos y familiares siempre recordarán su travesuras. Ella disfrutaba los viajes, la lectura, crucigramas, rompecabeza, pero lo mas que amaba eran las reuniones de familiares y amistades. A Cuca le encantaba cocinar y siempre deleiteaba su visita con un plato tradicional de Puerto Rico. Ella fue precedida en muerte por su esposo Cristobal Colon en 1992. Le sobreviven sus dos hijos: Edgardo Colon de West Palm Beach y Ada (Kevin) Nosowicz de Coral Springs, FL, hermanos, primos y siete nietos: Yaiscka, Yehudit, Francis, Christopher, Mya, Michael y Megan. Una celebracion de su vida se llevara cabo el dia Miercoles, 12 de Mayo del 2010 de seis a ocho de la noche en la Funeraria Savino en Margate, FL con un servicio religioso a las seis de la noche. Misa en su honor se llevara a cabo el dia Jueves 13 de Mayo del 2010 a las 9:45 a.m. en la parroquia de San Andres en Coral Springs, Fl oficiada por el Padre George. El cepelio se llevara a cabo el dia viernes 14 de Mayo del 2010 a las 2 p.m. en el Cementerio Nacional de la Florida en Bushnell, FL.
