Eleanore Lorraine O'Shea Eleanore Lorraine O'Shea, 89, resident of North Lauderdale passed away on February 4th, 2012. She is survived by her three children: Dennis O'Shea, Donald O'Shea and Nancy Spillane; five grandchildren: Tony, Tina, Jamie, Tisha and Jason; three great-grandchildren: Damian, Amanda, and Kyndall. Eleanore is preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, John O'Shea. Eleanore and John were both born in Brooklyn, New York and they resided there in the early years of their marriage. They bought their first home in Staten Island, where they raised their three children. John was New York City detective and Eleanore was nurse's aide. During those yeaers, they worked hard to achieve the life they wanted. Mom loved to crochet blankets for the family. She said that the blankets were like a warm hug. And everybody appreciated them. She also crocheted lap blankets for those wheelchair-bound residents in nursing homes. Every year at Christmas, everyone waited for her famous Norwegian cookies. People to this day still ask, "did she make her famous cookies?" Everybody always left with a tin of Mom's cookies. She was always very loving and tender with her grandchildren. And would enjoy babysitting them. We could always count on her. After retiring, they moved to South Florida where they lived a good life. Mom and Dad were both active members of the Boca Raton Elks and the Masons. Travelling was a large part of their lives, and they got to enjoy it to the fullest. Dad always threatened to sell the house and buy an RV and live like nomads...of course, mom always shook her head.."no". Shortly after Dad's death, she went to live with Nancy and her family. Mom will be terribly missed by all. But never forgotten. A Celebration of Life Visitation with a Service will take place from 11:00 A.M.-1:00P.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
