Flaubert "Bert" Syrus Peltier, 74, of Dominica, West Indies, passed away on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012 at the residence of his daughter and son-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Greenaway surrounded by his family. Bert was born in Dominica to Albert and Geraldine Peltier on February 20, 1938. He was a hard working entrepreneur. He was the founding father for young Dominicans who migrated to Boston, MA seeking education. His home was their home. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1960-1964 and held several body building titles, including Mr. San Diego and Mr. New England, in the 1960s. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Josephine, eight grandchildren, Jared, Alexander, Madison, Jeremy, Ethan, Noah, Olivia and Takeisha, five children, Joycelyn, Albert, Michael, Brian and Glen Francoise, brother, Augustus, sister, Pauline, sister in - laws, Vivian Alexander and Grace Peltier, brother in - laws, Edward, Kenneth and Challenger Hunte, daughter in-laws, Diana, Kathy, Alicia and Angela and son in - law, Russell and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 6th, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home & Cremation Services (directions below). A Wake service will take place at 7:00 P.M. with Fr. Thomas E. Wisniewski, Pastor officiating at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 7th, 2012 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church located at 5980 University Drive, Parkland, Florida 33067 (1st right North of the Sawgrass Expressway).
