Margot Elizabeth Scheil Clark

Margot Elizabeth Scheil Clark dedicated her life to helping others professionally as a Nurse Practitioner, and personally as a compassionate friend and advisor. So many friends and family members’ lives were touched by her in a profound and unforgettable way. Margot was born November 28, 1953 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Hans Eckart Scheil and Mary Ketter Scheil. She was the second of five siblings and made herself stand out from her brothers and sisters in many ways. Margot was a free spirit who marched to the beat of a different drummer, mystifying many who loved her. She spent the majority of her childhood in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from St. Joseph Academy high school in 1971. Margot attended the University of Iowa where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She received her RN degree from St. Anthony’s Hospital School of Nursing in Rockford, Illinois in 1976 and moved on to Loyola University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating Cum Laude in 1982. In 1996, Margot received her Master’s degree in Nursing, Summa Cum Laude from Florida International University. Margot started her professional career as a Registered Nurse in the emergency room at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. She enjoyed the everyday challenge of helping all that walked into the ER and loved to share stories about the characters that showed up in the middle of the night. She was promoted to Nursing Supervisor and enjoyed working at Weiss for over 10 years before moving to Ft. Lauderdale in 1987. As a well respected Nurse Practitioner, Margot worked for several physicians in the South Florida area, most recently with Dr. Mark Akselrud in Margate, Florida. She also worked as a Private Nurse for her special patient, Nicole Martin for more than 22 years. Many of the elderly in her community benefited from Margot’s dedicated care in local nursing facilities. Her heart felt love and concern for those in need is the gift for which she will always be remembered. True to her passion for healing, Margot’s final act of generosity was giving the gift of life to three people as an organ donor. A long time resident of Coral Springs, Florida, Margot married the love of her life, Bill Clark, in March, 1991. Together, they enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, skiing, and eating great barbeque. Margot was an avid card player, enjoying bridge and Texas Hold-em every chance she got. Living in Florida, Margot fell in love with the ocean and spent many hours in the water, soaking, dancing, scuba-diving, fishing and crabbing. Margot was preceded in death by her father, Hans Eckart Scheil. Margot leaves behind her beloved husband, Bill Clark; her mother, Mary Scheil; her in-laws, Hank and Dottie Clark; her siblings: Kathy Pavlik (John); Audrey Sunner (Gregg); Johnny Scheil (Ronda); and Jimmy Scheil along with a host of nieces and nephews: John Ed Pavlik, Patrick Scheil, David Pavlik, Stuart Scheil, Daniel Senechal, John Lee Clark, Kelli Sunner, Lizzy Pavlik, Abbi Sunner, and Amanda Senechal. Margot also leaves behind her new God-daughter, Kayla Martin and her “girls”, Acie and Deucie. A celebration of Margot’s life will be held at Savino • Weissman Funeral Home, 2950 North State Road 7 in Margate, Florida, on Saturday, January 22nd at 12:00pm.
