Natalie "Nattie" Lay

Natalie Lay, beloved daughter and sister, was born on April 11,1984. From the moment she was born, Nattie brought much joy to all those around her. From the time she could walk it was full speed ahead. Whether it was acting out or singing songs from the Little Mermaid to the Wizard of Oz, Natalie always made sure she gave it pizzazz. Nattie was an academic achiever as well as being an athlete. She excelled in cross country and in particular soccer, where she was part of the Lady Eagle Soccer Team for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Natalie attended Florida State University where she graduated with a degree in International Affairs. It wasn’t until after graduation that she learned her true life’s path, teaching. Natalie was a substitute as well as an interim teacher at Ramblewood Elementary School. Nattie loved and cared deeply for all the children she taught. She was a compassionate young woman who truly touched the lives of her students and all those around her. Our daughter brought so much vitality and laughter to all her friends as well. Our dear sweet Natalie passed from our loving arms on January 5, 2011. Though her life was brief, she lived it with love, courage, and conviction. Your sweetness will forever remain with us Natalie. Rest in peace and comfort Nattie knowing that you will always remain in our hearts until we meet again.
