Philip (Filippo) Bordonaro, 80, of Hallandale, Florida passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011. Philip (Filippo) Bordonaro was a devoted and loving father whose life was centered on his family. He was born and raised in Sicily, Italy. He married Elisa Bonifacio and they had two children. They raised their family in Queens, New York. In 2000, they decided to move to Florida permanently. He left behind a legacy of strong family values, and an unwavering commitment to care for others. He taught the beauty of giving without expecting anything in return, and to put other's interests before his own. His passing was preceded by his parents Salvatore and Giuseppa Bordonaro, and his wife Elisa. He leaves behind his sister: Maria Pia Ferraro, brother-in-law and their children and families. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren: Daughter, Betty and son-in-law, Ghassan Najm and their children, Nadia, Alyssa and Josef; and Daughter, Josephine and son-in-law, Thomas Alongi and their children, Amanda and Gabriella. He will also be missed by all those whose hearts were gently touched by his sweet nature. Filippo Bordonaro now joins his wife, Elisa, in the Ocean of Divine bliss; they will hold hands again and they will sing their wedding song, Fascination , together, as they walk along the sea shore and live in Eternal Peace. A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Monday, January 31, 2011 where a wake service will take place at 11:00 A.M. with Father Michael A. Giorgi officiating.
