Ramona M. Logan

Ramona M. Logan, a nurse practitioner and educator in community health, and hospital administrator, died on Thursday at her home in Coral Springs, Florida. She was 82. A life-long resident of New York City; she loved and explored the city for years. Ms. Logan graduated from Bellevue Mills School of Nursing where she worked as a staff nurse and clinical instructor thru the late 1960’s. Her extensive nursing career included positions at Beth Israel Hospital, New York Medical College, John Jay College, ARAMCO in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and at the Rusk Institute at New York University Hospital. She was involved in the establishment of Alpha Phi Chapter, Sigma Thata Tau, the honor society of nursing and served with distinction as its first President. A fiercely independent woman, Ms. Logan was known for her take-charge attitude, her passionate commitment as an educator and her adventurous spirit. She was an active member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Manhattan. She is survived by her brother Lt. Col Frank T. Logan III, ret. of Farmingdale, New York, her children, Ramona M Azulay of Coral Springs, Florida and Agnelo P Azulay Jr. of Millburn, New Jersey, her grandchildren, Marisa, Maura, Nicholas and Isabelle and a great-granddaughter, Madison. A memorial service will be held at St George’s Episcopal Church, Stuyvesant Square, 209 East 16th Street in New York City on August 18th at 10am.
