Teresa Lopez, 79, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Memorial Regional Hospital South in Hollywood. Teresa Lopez, daughter of Ramon Lopez Bonilla and Paula Romero Lopez, started her life's journey from her native birthplace of Puerto Rico. At the young age of 15 she leaves the island for a better life in New York City. She is re-united with her oldest sister, Carmen, who had settled a short time before. The two sisters lived together for many years and enjoyed the experiences that their new country would show them. Teresa later met and married Larry Falzone and that union brought about the birth of their 2 sons, Lawrence and Robert. She always took care of her family and was known best for being a loyal friend and an outstanding Mom. As life would have it she would later find herself a single mom of 2 children, and she took on the role with love and pride. Life brings about change and some years later she meets Jose A. Fresneda, who she would some time later marry and in 1962 was blessed to have her last child, her daughter Patricia. She also took upon any challenge and she would try to always make the best of any situation that would come her way. The example she gave not only to her children but also to those around her was one of a life of hard work, perseverance and never deterring from giving her children the best she had to offer. After many years in NYC, one by one all her children would settle in Florida, and that made her pick up stakes in 1989 and come to Florida to live. She was now able to leave her home of NYC she had lived for over 50 years to be with the people she treasured the most, her children. The families now had expanded to Larry, the eldest with his wife Sandi, and at that time their 2 sons, Anthony and Christopher. They would be blessed with 2 more children, Michael and Melodi. Robert, her second child along with his wife Lourdes, had a son, Robby. Patty the youngest upon her arrival in 1989, had a daughter named Rebekah and was pregnant with who later would be known as Andrew, born October in the year she settled in Florida. Even though already retired in NYC she continued to work an additional 15 years here in Florida. Her spirit and drive to be independent and still support her children was always a driving force within her. The quality of the person she was is reflected on how she lived her life. Her selfless nature was her most wonderful quality and when it came to lending a helping hand she was the first to offer help. The thing that was her passion and where she really enjoyed herself was cooking. She not only loved to eat but cooking for her was like therapy. She enjoyed herself the most when entertaining and hosting what would become food marathons with so many varieties of goodies to eat. She passed that gift on to all of her children, who in one way or another learned to cook a variety of delicious dishes that will remind us of her forever. Teresa Lopez will forever be remembered as an outstanding mother who loved her children with all of her heart. Always putting her children first in every decision she ever made. She always thought of others and would help anyone who needed her. A wonderful example of what a great mom and grandmother she was the priceless help she offered her daughter. She worked and also helping her daughter raise her 2 grandchildren, which gave her daughter the ability to work. The legacy she leaves behind is one of undying love and sacrifice, which will not be easily forgotten by those who knew her. The 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, will have many good memories and stories to tell of the great women and mother that was Teresa Lopez. A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 and also from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Savino Funeral Home & Cremation Services located 2950 North State Road 7 Margate, Florida 33063, 954.977.5244. A Funeral Service will take place 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Cella during the 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Celebration of Life Visitation on Thursday, September 9, 2010. Teresa López, hija de Ramón López Bonilla y PaulaRomero López, comenzó su vida en su pueblito natal en Isabela, Puerto Rico. Ala edad de los 15 años se marchó de su isla buscando nuevas oportunidades y asíllego a la cuidad de New York. Allí se re-encontrócon su hermana mayor Carmen, quien había partido unosmeses antes. Ambas hermanas vivieron juntas por muchos años y descubrieron lasexperiencias que ese nuevo país les presentaba día a día. Teresa mas tardeconoció y contrajo matrimonio con el Sr. Larry Falzone y de esa unión nacieron sus dos hijos, Lawrence y Robert. Ella siempre cuidó de su familia y se destacopor ser una amiga fiel y una madre maravillosa. Mas tarde por situaciones de lavida se encontró criando a sus dos hijos sola y aún así tomo esto como un retolleno de amor y valentía. Años mas tarde la vida le trajo otra oportunidad yconoció al Sr. José A Fresneda, con quien años mas tarde se casó. Fruto de esaunión en el 1962 fue bendecida con su hija Patricia. Ella tomó este nuevo retode continuar sacando sus hijos adelante como siempre lo hacía con cadasituación que la vida le presentaba. El ejemplo que le dio no solo a sus hijos sino a todosa su alrededor era su valentía, su arduo trabajo y perseverancia y dándole acada uno de ellos lo mejor que tenia. Después de muchos años en New York y yasus hijos siendo adultos uno a uno se fueron trasladando al estado de laFlorida. En el 1989 luego de mas de 50 años de vivir en New York ella decidiótrasladarse también a la Florida siguiendo lo que mas ella atesoraba en sucorazón, sus hijos¡ En ese momento ya la familia se había expandido, Larry elmayor y su esposa Sandy tenían a sus dos hijos Anthony y Christopher. Luegoellos fueron bendecidos con otros dos hijos Michael y Melodi. Robert su segundohijo con su esposa Lourdes tenían a su hijo Robby. Y Patricia la mas joven llegóen 1989 con su hija Rebekah y embarazada de quien sería su hijo conocido comoAndrew, quien nació en octubre de ese mismo año en que se establecieron en laFlorida. A pesar que ya se había retirado en la cuidad de NewYork, aquí en la Florida continuó trabajando por 15 años. Su espíritu y deseode ser independiente y de poder ayudar a sus hijos la acompañaron siempre. Lacalidad de persona siempre se reflejó en como ella vivió. Su naturalezadadivosa y su mejor cualidad era que siempre estaba dispuesta a darle una manoa todo aquel que lo necesitaba. Su pasión y algo que ella disfrutaba aplenitud era cocinar. A ella no solo le gustaba comer sino que cocinar era sugran terapia. Teresa disfrutaba y se entretenía cuando tenia invitados y hacíalos maratones de comida con una extensa variedad. Ella paso ese don de cocinara todos sus hijos, quienes de una manera u otra aprendieron a cocinar variedadde deliciosos platos que la harán ser recordada por siempre. Teresa siempre será recordada como una madre extraordinariaque amo sus hijos con todo su corazón. Siempre puso sus hijos y susprioridades primero en cada decisión que tomó. Siempre pensó en los demás ycomo podía ayudarlos. Un maravilloso ejemplo de una gran madre y abuela queno tiene precio la ayuda que le dio a su hija. Ella trabajó y ayudó a su hijaa criar a sus nietos para que esta pudiese salir a trabajar. El legado que nosdeja es uno del amor sin medida y sacrificio, que no será fácil de olvidar paraaquellos que la conocieron. Sus tres hijos, sus siete nietos y sus dosbisnietos, tendrán muchas lindas y buenas memorias e historias de la gran mujery madre que fue Teresa Lopez.
