It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Laura Bernadette de Tullio She passed away peacefully at her home in Hillsboro Beach, Florida. She was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland on November 3rd, 1932. Laura was a graduate of Glasgow University and left Scotland in 1959 to teach in Zambia where she met her future husband. In the late 1960’s she came to St.Maarten with her family, where she taught for many years at St.Joseph’s Catholic School in Philipsburg. Later she also taught at the Foundation for Vocational and Professional Training (FVPT), now The St.Maarten Academy. In 1983 Laura made a sacrifice for her family and moved with her two younger sons to New York. In the States, she continued her career as an educator, teaching secondary classes in New York and Florida. Laura was tremendously proud to have earned her Masters in Theology from St. Vincent de Paul Seminary in Boynton Beach, FL. She also logged a number of volunteer hours at Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton while her son attended school there. In addition to being a proud educator, Laura was a member of the Island Gems Charity Foundation (St.Maarten), and a devout Catholic. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Victor de Tullio; her sons, Raymond and Margaret and their children, Andrew and Matthew, Dominique and Corinna and their children, Oliver, Victoria, and Nicholas, Anthony, and Gregory and Monica and their daughter, Gabriella. She is also survived by her only sister, Maureen. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends too numerous to mention. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. A Wake Service will be officiated by Fr. Guy Fiano at 5:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, August 31, 2015 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Boca Raton.
