Sue Emma Boynton

Sue Emma Boynton (born Assunta Emma) was born of parents Joseph Porcelli and Phyllis Porcelli in Providence, Rhode Island on August 15, 1923. She was the second oldest of seven children, and was the last Porcelli sibling to leave us here on earth. Her siblings were Joseph Jr., Anthony, Raymond, Richard, Patricia, and Viola. One of her sisters, Viola Palazzo and her looked almost like identical twins, so much so that they were called the "Porcelli Twins" while growing up in Rhode Island. She met her husband, the late William "Bill" Boynton in Rhode Island because he was a friend of her brother Anthony. Bill Boynton went off to fight in World War II but he wrote to Sue from the War and they were married upon his return to the United States. Her and Bill ultimately relocated to South Florida where they lived for the rest of their lives. Her husband Bill passed away in 2004. Her and Bill had two children, the oldest being Bill Boynton Jr., who passed away in 2008, and the youngest being Sue Ann Boynton. Sue Ann Boynton resides in Sunrise, Florida, and visited her mother often after she went to the Nursing Home close to where Sue Ann lives. Sue Ann and Sue lived together for most of Sue Ann's life and they were extremely close. Sue's son, Bill Boynton Jr., has two daughters, Davina and Andrea, who were very close to Sue, and were one the joys of her life, as she always wanted grand-children, she treated them like gold. Her former daughter-in-law, Patricia Boynton, has known Sue for 48 years and remained close especially during the last five years. She loved her very dearly and will miss her greatly. Sue enjoyed gardening and maintained a garden of vegetable and herbs both when she was living in Rhode Island and when she was living in Florida. Sue also enjoyed playing the organ and reading books, especially Harlequin Romance Novels. Sue's favorite hobby was cooking with her daughter and grand-daughters. Sue made lasagna, home-made pizza, outstanding meatballs, home-made ravioli, and other rare Italian dishes such as Rice Pie, Wine Biscuits, Dough Boys and Pitzelles. Anyone who tried anything she made absolutely loved it and she thoroughly enjoyed watching people eat her food always saying at the dinner table "mange, mange." and "Have some more, I can't pack this up so just eat it." She also enjoyed getting her hair done once per week when she was well enough, at the "Beauty Parlor." Sue lived with her daughter Sue Ann at Colony Club Assisted Living Facility until August 2009, when it became more difficult for her to walk around and she needed closer supervision. At that time Sue moved to Sunrise Rehab, a nursing home where she was one of the most popular residents with the staff. She read the newspaper every morning until she was taken from us. The staff, nurses and aides all said that she always had a smile on her face and brightened up everyone's day. She was constantly reaching out to everyone to hold their hand and give them a warm greeting. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her. There will be a small, graveside service for family and close friends only on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Forest Lawn South Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2401 SW 64th Ave., Davie, Florida 33317, 954-792-9360. The family will be receiving anyone who wishes to come after the service at Davina's home located at 8751 SW 51st Place, Cooper City, Florida 33328, for the traditional Italian gathering after the service at approximately 1:00pm.
