Vilma C. Montalvan

Vilma del Carmen Montalvan, 58, of Coral Springs, FL, was called back to her heavenly father on Saturday, January 4, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family after a long fought battle with leukemia. Vilma was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on May 6, 1955 to Armando and Luz Maria Chicaiza. In 1971, while completing her studies, she met and later married who would grow to become the love of her life, Andres. They went on to welcome four children, Alex, Angela, Andres Jr, and Lidia. When their family was complete Andres and Vilma decided to provide them a better life and relocated to the United States and eventually settled in Coral Springs, FL. Vilma worked alongside her husband over 25 years at ABB Group until her illness would no longer permit her to do so. She was an extremely hard worker, beloved by her coworkers, whom she considered as her extended family. Vilma will be forever remembered for her undeniable zest for life. Her priorities were grounded in faith and devotion to family. Those who were blessed to know her will remember her radiant smile, hospitable nature, great sense of humor, and giving heart. Vilma also loved the color purple, retail therapy, the Christmas season, her beloved dogs and grand-dogs, and traveling the world with her husband. She especially cherished her return trips to Ecuador to visit with her adoring family. Vilma is survived by her beloved husband, Andres; their children Alex (Melissa), Angela (JP), Andres (Amanda), and Lidia (Jimmy); and grandchildren, Kayla (Princess), Kyle (King), Casandra (Dolly), and Dominic (Principe). She also leaves behind her parents, Armando and Luz Maria Chicaiza; siblings, Mariana, Wilson, Jenny, Marlene, Magdalena, David, and Marcelo. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her brother’s and sister’s in law. She is preceeded in death by sisters, Maroxana del Rocio and Maroxana Janeth. A Memorial Viewing will be held at Coral Springs Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 6 - 8p.m. with the vigil service at 7p.m. For those unable to attend, the service will be broadcast online via the link provided. Vilma nació en Guayaquil, Ecuador el 6 de mayo de 1955, hija de Armando y Luz María Chicaiza . En 1971 mientras completaba sus estudios , conoció y luego se casó con el hombre que iba a crecer hasta convertirse en el amor de su vida , Andrés. Se llegó a la bienvenida a cuatro niños, Alex , Angela, Andres Jr , y Lidia . Cuando su familia estaba completa Andrés y Vilma decidieron darles una vida mejor y se trasladó a los Estados Unidos y con el tiempo se establecieron en Coral Springs, FL . Vilma trabajó junto a su marido por más de 25 años en el Grupo ABB hasta que su enfermedad ya no se permitiría . Ella era una trabajadora muy dura que era querida por sus compañeros de trabajo que ella consideraba como su familia extendida. Vilma será recordada como una persona cuyo entusiasmo por la vida era innegable. Sus prioridades se basaban en la fe y la devoción a la familia . Los que fueron bendecidos a conocerla recordarán su radiante sonrisa, carácter hospitalario , gran sentido del humor y que da el corazón . Vilma también amaba el color morado, terapia de compras , la temporada de Navidad,, sus queridos perros y nietos perros, y ver el mundo con su marido. Ella especialmente apreciaba sus viajes de regreso a Ecuador para visitar a su familia que adoraba. Vilma le sobreviven su amado esposo , Andrés ; sus hijos Alex (Melissa ) , Angela ( JP) , Andrés (Amanda ) y Lidia (Jimmy ), y nietos , Kayla (Princess) , Kyle (King), Casandra (Dolly ) , y Dominic ( Príncipe). Ella también deja tras de sus padres, Armando y Luz María Chicaiza hermanos, Mariana , Wilson , Jenny , Marlene , Magdalena , David y Marcelo. También dejó de apreciar su memoria son numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos , y mas familiares. Ella es precedido en la muerte por hermanas, Maroxana del Rocío y Maroxana Janeth . Una visión conmemorativo se celebrará en Coral Springs Funeral Home el Sábado, 11 de enero del 2014 de 6-8pm con un servicio de vigilia a las 7 pm. Para quienes no puedan asistir al servicio será transmitido en línea a través del enlace proporcionado. En lugar de flores , la familia solicita donaciones se harán a nombre de Vilma a un centro de investigación sobre el cáncer de su elección .
